1.4 miles, loop trail
This enjoyable, often squishy hike is one of the best
places in Lexington County to see and photograph
birds. After leaving the parking area, the trail quickly
makes a short descent, where the trail skirts the
namesake pond's western edge. Here you'll find several-
-openings with good vistas of the pretty pond. Wear-
-some shoes that you don't mind getting wet; some of-
-the trail might be a few inches underwater!

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. **Only listed as potentially as "Moderate" due to trail might be overgrown
and boggy certain times of the year.
Distance: 1.4 miles, loop trail.
Time: 1 hour.
Trail Surface: Dirt, natural surface, some wet/muddy areas.
Crowds: Very light. This trail is not well known.
Trailhead & Parking: parking area is off Boiling Springs Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Parking area
is 650-ft. east of intersection of Boiling Springs Road and Bluefield Road. Use the following

Precautions: Biting insects can be formidable in the warmer months. Bring insect repellent. This area is wet
nearly year-round. Your shoes might get wet/muddy. The trail could be overgrown at certain times of the year. There are warnings that alligators could be in the area.
